LANSING TWP. - Two men are in custody Tuesday afternoon, following a robbery at Azzi Jewelers in Lansing Township.

The robbery happened shortly after 2 o'clock. Lansing Township Police Chief Kay Hoffman said that the men robbed a customer of cash in the jewelry store, but there was no attempt to rob the store itself. At least one man was seen to have a gun. No shots were fired.

The men left on foot. A witness told police that the two thieves got into a car in a nearby parking lot. A license plate number for the car was obtained.

The registration led police to check an apartment in the Trapper's Cove complex on Lansing's south side. There, News 10's crew saw a man and a woman placed in a police car and questioned. More than an hour later a second man was placed into custody and the woman was released.
