MSU Job Fair Brings Hope & Concern

By  |

Michigan State University held its annual Criminal Justice Career Fair. Despite the post 9-11 emphasis on security and law, some at the fair saw few jobs available.

MSU student, Stephanie Wagner, said that jobs were available at the fair but she had to look hard. She said some agencies could only offer unpaid internships as a result of state and local government cutbacks.

Tim Homberg, organizer of the event, said that many of the federal agencies at the event had jobs available.

Unfortunately some federal agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigations require more experience than only an undergraduate degree.
