Lansing's new mayor began his first official day of business meeting with city council members, union leaders and cabinet members.
Bernero talked about the city's troubled budget when meeting with his cabinet members. He asked them all to work together to help hammer out ways to balance the projected $10 to $11 million deficit.
Bernero says cuts will have to be made as he will not implement any new tax increases or use financial reserves.
