The state's Housing Development Authority is shelling out millions of dollars to help house Michigan's most needy. Lansing and seven other cities are in line to receive the money pending final approval.

Ten agencies in the Mid-Michgian area are working together to either acquire or build at least 20 apartments for the chronically homeless. The Salvation Army is the lead agency for the program.
