Classrooms aren't crowded yet, but the Holt Public Schools District isn't going to wait until it's too late to take action.
The district has proposed re-drawing it's boundaries to accommodate a growing student body. It's a move that could shift hundreds of elementary and middle school students to other schools.
No one would be forced to leave their current classes, but after one year bussing to and from school would not be available for those who chose to keep their child within the old boundaries.
Parent Jamie Donn supports the redistricting. Donn believes her daughter will adapt and hopes a decision is made sooner than later. Cheri Swartz' two sons attend Elliott Elementary School. Swartz hopes they can stay and finish elementary together.
