Governor Jennifer Granholm is back from her first foray into the Middle East war zone including a stopover in Baghdad. Now back home, the governor says she was told there would be "significant" U.S. troop withdrawals starting in "early 2006."
The governor says her journey was "an incredible experience." She met with Michigan troops and at one point actually rode on a plane with a Lansing National Guard unit, the 199th, that she reports was headed home. The soldiers are expected back in Lansing later this week.
