Lansing Township hosts the two Lansing area General Motors plants recently scheduled to be shut down and the loss of revenue from the move move could exceed $400,000.

The Township says if the plants are demolished that would mean no longer receiving about $381,000 in taxes from the company for building a plant on the local government's land.

In addition it's estimated that G.M. uses about $80,000 in water resources from the area as well.

The total lost could be as great as $461,000.
