PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities say a 2-year-old girl survived falling from a second-story window in Pontiac after being left home alone.
The Oakland County sheriff's department says the girl was wearing only a diaper when she knocked on the door of a home shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday. The department says she had abrasions and paint on a leg that investigators say came from when she fell against the side of her home.
The child's 21-year-old father told investigators he left her alone while going to buy cigarettes after walking the child's mother to work. The child's 22-year-old mother told authorities the child was left when she went to work.
Both parents were arrested and Child Protective Services was called. The girl was examined at a local hospital and cleared to be released.
