LANSING - 2 men are shot during a fight outside a Lansing club. Police were called to the 3200 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at about 11:30PM Monday. Witnesses said a large gathering had taken place in the parking lot outside the Blackened Moon concert Hall. They tell police a verbal argument in the lot became physical, and then several shots were fired. The crowd scattered.
Witnesses described a car that may be involved. Police soon located that car nearby, where they discovered a 34-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his arm. He was taken to the hospital with a non life threatening injury. While at the hospital, police were informed that another man, a 23-year-old, had been shot in the leg. Both gunshot victims said they were at the parking lot, but say they were not involved and do not know why they were shot.
Police continue to investigate, interviewing more witnesses, and will take further statements from both victims.
The owner of the Blackened Moon, Chas Schoals, says that his business was not even open Monday night, and does not know why people would be in his parking lot.
