2 Attempted Armed Robberies on the Street

LANSING - Police in Lansing are on the lookout for a couple of armed men attempting to rob people on the street. There were two incidents Monday evening in the area of S. Holmes Street and Gray Street, just north of Potter Park. A pair of teenagers told police that at about 6:45PM they were walking in that area when they were approached by two males. One produced a handgun and demanded drugs, The two victims said they told him they did not have any drugs, and ran away. Shortly afterward, police made contact with a second victim. A 57-year-old man tells police he was walking near S. Holmes and Gray Streets and was approached by two males. He says one pulled a gun and demanded money. The man said he did not have any money. The man with the gun struck the victim on the head, knocking him down. The two would-be robbers kicked the man several times and ran off. The victim suffered minor injuries, but refused medical treatment.
Police say the suspects are believed to be the same in both attempted robberies.
Suspect #1 description: black male, 16 to 18 years old, 6'0" with a stocky build, wearing a dark hooded sweat shirt, dark pants and wearing a "Ski" mask. This suspect was armed with a black semi-auto handgun.
Suspect #2 description: black male (light complexion), 16 to 17 years old, 6'0'' with a thin build, wearing dark clothing, no mask.
