Brandi Chastain scored the winning goal for the United States in the 1999 women's World Cup, making her a hero to soccer players all over the country.
Thursday she was in Mason filming an upcoming episode of the NBC reality show "Three Wishes."
It's all thanks to Magen Salmon, a fifth grade soccer player who wished for a major soccer star to help coach her team.
The team had no idea Chastain was coming to town. She practiced with the team in an indoor practice field in Lansing before heading down to Mason for the team's game against Williamston.
"I've been playing soccer for 30 years, it's important for me to share my time with these girls and hopefully make a lasting impression on each one of them," Chastain said.
Producers from "Three Wishes" said they don't know when the episode will air, but it will likely be sometime in December.
