The state will move up the starting date of 158 road constructions projects in 59 of Michigan's 83 counties at a cost of $618 million but with a resulting creation of 11,000 new jobs.
Projects in the Lansing area include preventive maintenance on portions of I-69, US 127, M-52, and M-36.
The projects will be financed by selling bonds and not raising the gasoline tax.
