Falling Gas Prices

Triple-A Michigan says the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Michigan fell 4.9 cents over the past week.

The statewide average for self-serve was $2.23. That's a 70.7 cent drop since October 3. But it's 28.8 cents more than one year ago.

In the Detroit area, the average cost was $2.18 per gallon. That's down 7.2 cents from the previous week.

The Traverse City area posted the highest regional price today, with an average of $2.29 per gallon. That's about nine cents less than the previous week.
