One of the heartbreaks of Alzheimer's Disease is the patient's dangerous wandering. But now there's a new device that can help authorities track down Alzheimer's patients within minutes.
It's about the size of a wrist watch and weighs a couple of ounces, but for anyone who has a loved one with Alzheimer's this device could take some weight off their shoulders.
It's called a Global Tracking Device and can be tracked for several miles. The national average for rescue times is running right around 20 minutes. Each transmitter costs $275 and $15 a month to maintain.
The Morris County Sheriff's Department in New Jersey has 200 of them and the Alzheimer's Association will accept enrollments.
