The Detroit officials who are staging the 2006 Super Bowl are in San Diego this week.

They plan to watch Sunday's game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders. But more importantly, they're absorbing inspiration and ideas from their San Diego counterparts about how to stage the big event. Super Bowl XXXX's economic impact on southeast Michigan could approach $375 million.

The host committee also hopes dividends will flow from making Detroit look good to 3,000 journalists -- and a potential worldwide television audience of 800 million.
