The fine details of the plan such as how to handle outgoing replacement nurses when the original nurses return to work are still being planned.
But even if there is lingering tension, both sides say they’re professional and will work to get beyond any hard feelings.
A union representative says a few nurses have been lost to other jobs due to the strike. Some nurses who had taken temporary jobs have until November 10 to return to Ingham after talking with their managers.
As of Tuesday the deal set by the new contract will be in effect. Union representatives say the contract will help attract nurses to work and stay at Ingham Regional Medical Center.
