Five hundred Lansing public school students received the H.O.P.E. Scholarship. It’s a way for some students to attend college at Lansing Community College for two years free of tuition costs.
Hundreds gathered at Lansing’s Eastern High School to celebrate students receive the hope scholarship.
It’s a program that sends students to LCC for two years of education valued at over $3,000.
Mayor David Hollister, who helped create the program says Gov. Granholm is considering implementing the program statewide and calling it The Great Lakes Scholarship.
