One billion dollars will be invested in Michigan jobs if the state passes a new bill this week.
State senators already said yes to the bill that will sell part of the state's tobacco settlement. The money would be invested into Fields like "life sciences," advanced automotive manufacturing, defense technology, and alternative energy.
The House and Senate approved different versions of the bill. They will now begin working out their differences before sending it to the governor.
