Pharmacy Just for Children

Have you ever had a hard time filling prescriptions? Either because the pharmacy doesn't carry the medication or it cannot get it for you in the right dose. It's a problem many children face and now there is a pharmacy that is making prescriptions just for kids.

In-patient hospital pharmacies make medications sick kids can stomach, but once they head home some local pharmacists are not sure on how to fill the prescription.

The Children's Hospital has a new compounding lab where pharmacists take prescriptions and mix medications on a kids' scale. It's old fashioned pharmacology at it's best, with recipes and science to guide the process.

The consequences of kids not getting prescriptions filled properly can be serious. From the parents just deciding not to get the medications at all to getting the medications prepared wrong. All too often kids can be over-dosed and wind up in the hospital.
