An American Axle and Manufacturing Holdings Inc. spokeswoman confirms the auto parts supplier has reached a tentative agreement with the United Auto Workers that could end an 11-week strike.
Spokeswoman Renee Rogers says she doesn't have any details on the deal, reached late Friday. It's not clear when the agreement will be presented to union members.
The walkout by about 3,600 workers at five factories had crippled truck and sport utility vehicle manufacturing at General Motors Corp.
The company makes axles, drive shafts and stabilizer bars for GM, Chrysler LLC and other automakers.
GM was forced to partially or fully close more than 30 factories and lay off thousands of workers because of parts shortages.

job loss, layoffs, pay cuts.some will have no job in the end of all this.unions can't stop that.just cause that.and are they doing a good job of it.30 factories waiting ect.walmart does hire, but most all jobs are taken.seems to be the going thing now.work for walmart.not many other choices in mich,in many counties.just not 40 hrs a week.less insurances, and low wages.can't just replace decent paying jobs, they aren't there.maybe GM can make all the parts they need to make each auto.then they won't have to buy from somewhere else.then we'd see less strikes.our county would glady work for a big GM company.and have plenty of places to build and alot to buy.15 to 20 $ an hour?ya bet.
