The Rives Junction dad charged with the attempted murder of his 16-year-old daughter is found not guilty of the most serious charge.
Henry Lott was arrested earlier this year, after prosecutors say he tried to kill his daughter by wrapping her in plastic at her home on April 19. They argued it was because he wanted to get out of paying child support.
But a jury acquitted him Wednesday of attempted murder, heroin possession, and domestic violence. Lott was convicted of second-degree child abuse, because he admitted he had wrapped his daughter in cellophane.
He claimed it was because she had a fever and he was trying to break it.
