Schools Look Safe Amid Student Loss

Lansing School's Treasurer Guillermo Lopez says it's far too early to speculate on even how much money the district will be short. 100-thousand, 500-thousand, a million... he says they have to revisit the budget to be sure.

LaDonna Mask, prinicipal of Wainwright Leadership Magnet Academy says she paused when she heard the district would be short students and money. Her school was slated for closure earlier this year during budget cuts, but spared at the last minute.

Lopez and Mask say Wainwright is doing well. Lopez doesn't envision anything happening to the school... and, again says it will take time to sort out details on what needs to be done.
