A jury may have convicted Matthew Macon in the murders of two Lansing women and the assault of a third, but he may soon be back in a courtroom, facing charges in the murders of five more Lansing women.
Ingham County prosecutor Stuart Dunnings III told News 10 exclusively Thursday that he is calling for a meeting of the homicide task force.
Macon was convicted of the murders of Sandra Eichorn and Karen Delgado-Yates and the attack on Linda Jackson on Jones Street last summer. He's suspected in the 2004 murder of Barbara Jean Tuttle, the 2005 murder of Lansing Community College professor Carolyn Kronenberg and the 2007 murders of Ruth Hallman, Deborah Cooke and Debra Renfors.
Hallman's daughter, Lansing city councilwoman Carol Wood, told reporters that some progress had been made in her mother's case, and indicated that she expects the legal system to move forward soon.
In the meantime, Macon is scheduled for sentencing on June 18.
