Lansing Mayor-elect Virg Bernero is hitting the ground running. At a news conference Wednesday, he unveiled plans to make his move from the Senate to City Hall a smooth one.
Bernero's transition plan includes setting up six committees dealing with issues like economic growth, job creation, city services and regionalism.
Former Lansing Mayor David Hollister is the transition team's director. Don LeDuc, President and Dean of Colley Law School, is the deputy director.
Bernero says he will also work with outgoing Mayor Tony Benavides.
As for his Senate seat, Governor Granholm has the option of calling a special election to fill it or the seat can remain vacant until next November.
