A student at Springport High School in Jackson County is facing prison time after police say he made a violent threat on Facebook.
17-year-old Noah Moricz was arraigned Thursday afternoon on a threat of terrorism charge, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. Moricz is seen wearing a special vest in his mugshot. The Jackson County Undersheriff tells us it's a special vest for inmates who may have mental health issues.
The Springport Township Police Chief says no specific day or school was mentioned in the online threat, but the teen did have access to guns in his home.
Police want to stress that at no time were any students in jeopardy, but put a police presence at the school on Thursday just as a precaution.
Michigan State Police and the Jackson County Sheriff's Office assisted Springport Township Police in the investigation.
