PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities in southeastern Michigan say a dispute over pumpkin throwing has left a 21-year-old woman with a gunshot wound.
The Oakland County sheriff's department says in a statement that the woman and her friends "were playing with pumpkins" in Pontiac on Saturday night when they got into a confrontation with the driver of a pickup truck.
The department says the driver believed one of the pumpkins hit his truck. It says "the confrontation escalated, and the driver pulled a handgun and shot in the group's direction."
The department says the Pontiac woman sustained non-life threatening injuries and was hospitalized.
It says the pickup driver's identity isn't known.
