Theresa Gallie said she got the idea Thursday when her three kids complained of being bored, so for the last five days, the Gallies have gone door-to-door with other kids in the neighborhood to collect cans and bottles.
They've already collected 5,000 cans; that's $500 that will be donated to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
All the kids involved say it was a great way to spend their holiday weekend and they're proud to be able to help others in need.
