AAA Michigan says a gallon of self-serve regular is up an average of about two and a half cents, to about a $1.54 statewide. That's more than 17 pennies higher than prices a month ago and 42 cents more expensive than during this week of last year.
In the Detroit area, the same gallon averages about a $1.48. That's less than two pennies more costly than last week in the region and about 39 cents more than during this time of last year.
