The Chevy SSR is what GM calls a halo vehicle. It's designed to attract attention, and sell in low volume. If the roadster is unorthodox, the real fanatics are even more so.
Dozens of owners came to Lansing Friday to visit the plant where their cars were made. They had custom paint jobs, grills on the backs of the cars, and countless other knick-knacks to show off.
GM says they can get ideas from their creative customers and they, of course, love to see what they've done with the cars.
