East Lansing police are looking for a man with shaggy blondish-brown hair and a bite mark on his hand. Officials say a suspect fitting that description attacked a woman while she was sleeping in her Linden Street house in East Lansing.
Police say the suspect tried to cover the woman's mouth when she woke up around 8:00 a.m. on Friday, and that's when the victim bit the man's hand and screamed for help.
The victim's roommates scared the suspect out of the house, and police arrived shortly thereafter, but they were not able to track down the suspect, even after a K-9 search.
Police say the same suspect could be responsible for a few previous attacks in the area. In May, a woman on the 100 block of Kedzie Street reported waking up to a man with a knife, and in the year 2000, a woman on the 400 block of Ann Street reported a sexual assault with a knife.
Police say the most recent victim left her door unlocked.
Police are looking for a white male in his mid-twenties. He's 5'5" to 5'8" with a thin build. Police say he has shaggy blonde or brown hair, and he was wearing a red baseball cap with gray or black seat pants and a zip-up sweatshirt.
