The wrecking ball is about to hit more than 450 family housing units on the campus of Michigan State University. The school will demolish the University Village Apartments located off Kalamazoo Street.
New apartments for junior and senior undergraduates will be built on the site. The new apartments will cost MSU $16 million. The University Village units date back to the 1950s when they served as temporary housing for Korean War Veterans. The apartments will close in May.
