Kids at Gardner Middle School might be able to help with the finances come tax season.
That's because officials from Michigan's Auditor General's office gave them a lesson in budgeting and calculating costs for their future.
Officials taught the middle school kids how to subtract money from their paychecks for savings and taxes. The kids also learned staying in school can be a key to finding a good job.
Officials say it's a good idea to teach kids about the economy while they're young, so they can learn how to save their money and plan for their futures.
