Some Mid-Michigan reservists are on alert that they may be called up for active duty, as the possibility of a U.S-Iraq showdown becomes more evident.
The 323rd Military Police Detachment based out of Jackson received an alert notification Wednesday morning from the 88th Regional Support Command.
The 323rd is the army's detectives, responsible for logistical security and handling protective services for high ranking officials. It was last deployed in 1990 for Desert Storm.
This weekend the 323rd will go through soldier readiness processing for if and when immobilization orders come. The commander for the 323rd says it's an anxious time for the detectives, not knowing when and where they will be.
But he adds there is no doubt in his mind the soldiers will be deployed.
