State officials say unemployment rates decreased in 15 of Michigan's 17 major labor market areas in June.
The seasonally unadjusted jobless rate increased only in the Detroit area. The rate stayed the same in the Lansing area.
Both regions were affected by short-term auto industry layoffs.
Jobless rates in every other region dropped.
The lowest rate was in the Ann Arbor area at 4.4 percent.
The highest rate was in the Saginaw area at 7.9 percent.
