Despite the efforts of multiple fire departments, police and rescue workers, a construction worker is dead after being buried alive in Delhi Township.
Delhi Fire officials say that they responded to the call within eight to 10 minutes.
The call detailed a man working on either a sewage or water line being buried when the trench he was working inside of caved in.
But fearing the worst, local fire officials called the Lansing Fire Department’s special Urban Search and Rescue unit. The unit arrived and found the man buried by an estimated 15 feet of dirt, clay and earth.
Officials would not disclose the name or company the construction worker was laboring for.
