Despite a hotly contested state supreme court case, The Ingham County Road Commission moves forward with its Okemos Rd. project and announces it will begin on Thursday.
Citizens had alleged Ingham county did not properly involve them in the decision making process for the project but the state's high court ruled Ingham county did.
As a result the project will begin this week albeit following a six week delay from its intended start. A spokesman says the construction will end sometime in mid October.
That will cause the project to continue construction through the busy student move-in period in September and will likely mean some gridlock for the first three Michigan State University home football games.
