Smoking Ordinance in Limbo

By  |

The City of East Lansing voted to table a smoking ordinance that had some business at odds with city leaders.

The ordinance could make it mandatory for restaurants and bars to offer non-smoking areas from open to close.

City officials say the new rules would strike a fairer balance between smokers and non-smokers.

Some business say it would drive away customers.

It's unclear when or if the council will again review the potential rules change.
