Updated: Mon 6:06 PM, Dec 16, 2002

The man accused of gunning down his ex-wife, his niece and a family acquaintance outside the Isabella County courthouse last March has been found guilty.

A jury convicted 52-year-old Thomas Wendt on three counts of first-degree murder. He now faces a mandatory life sentence in prison.

Wendt shot the three people at close range with a 12-guage shotgun as they walked to the courthouse in Mount Pleasant to attend a hearing.

The victims were Wendt's ex-wife, Vick Sue Keller, her niece Brandi Lea Keller and their friend, Douglas McCoy.
