What a difference a year makes for prices at the pump. According to AAA, in the capital city costs for regular are up 80-percent.
The Michigan Department of Transportation says they've received an increase in calls about their ride share program.
Saying the program saves commuters hundreds of dollars by matching-up similar drivers through car pooling.
Debbie Alexander of The Capital Area Transportation Authority, however, she says that program is not available in Lansing.
She says because state funding was slashed in 2004 the program had to be cut in October that year.
But a federal grant is about to restore it, but not for at least a month.
There is a program that is available, however, at www.michivan.com
