Red Cross Providing Hurricane Katrina Relief

By  |

Volunteers are already on-site to help with the relief effort of Hurricane Katrina, and they'll soon be joined by Mid-Michigan volunteers.

And as donations come in to the Mid-Michigan chapter, staff there is hoping to build a fund to last until November. Sarah Clevenger of the Mid-Michigan Red Cross says hurricane season officially started in June, but most of the worst hurricanes have struck during the fall.

Because of this, they are being proactive in their efforts. Volunteers will be leaving tomorrow to help set up shelters and provide food. The Red Cross will be collecting donations for Katrina efforts and other natural disasters to come.
