Lansing Goes Back to School

Approximately 1,300 students had to be shuffled after the district decided to close five schools to accommodate budget problems.

Monday, at the start of school, parents taking their kids to Bingham Elementary lamented the closing of Allen Street Elementary.

"I just hope she gets the same kind of learning here," says Augusta Bragg, of Lansing.

Superintendent E. Sharon Banks was on hand to assure them. She says their priority is to present open arms to the new students.
