"Make sure your pants are around your waste, not your knees," said Curtis Andrews, a senior at Everett High School, "too many of the guys have pants that sag a little too low."
A group of seniors at Everett met Wednesday to discuss ways freshman can make the transition as smooth as possible.
"Always wear clothing that doesn't attract the wrong attention," said Simone Phillips, another Everett senior.
Students have to follow the district dress code, which prohibits students from wearing things like halter tops, tank tops, spaghetti straps, and bandanas.
The complete dress code can be found at the Lansing school district Web site.
School districts in Jackson, East Lansing and Waverly have similar dress codes.
