Drivers Cope With High Gas Prices

As gas prices reached record-highs in Michigan Monday, drivers started exploring alternative forms of transportation.

Since September 2004, CATA has recorded at least a 10 percent increase in ridership every month. Sandy Draggoo, Executive Director, said she expects that trend to continue.

David Hanson, owner of Riverfront Cycle in Lansing, said he thinks his business will pick-up as more people choose bikes and mo-peds over cars.

More people have also started carpooling, especially those with long commutes to work.
