I haven't gotten my Stimulus Check. The date that your suppose to send it falls on a holiday, and that's not good. How do I find out if it's on it's way. You see I wanted to go to Texas for the fourth of july weekend. I am off work right now and go back to work on monday. So I got stuck staying home for the weekend. I am very dissapointed!

This is not fair at all....i received a letter stating my check would be mailed the beginning of may, and of course i have not received it as of july 2, 2008...the letter i got said if u do not receive it by the date above to call the tool free number...GOOD LUCK..the number is always busy. i have tried different times a day and night. i try calling my local irs office, they have a recording saying to call the same toll free number...this is a joke. many people , such as myself, are also out of work and this check would help somewhat....but u can not get any help from anyone.. the recording tells u to look at this website...i have nevered been so disappointed in our gov. as i am now. try getting an extension for umemployment, thats a joke..watch our senate at work. talk about doing nothing but stalling when issues come up..it's nothing but a game they play: dems against reps. and we the people are the ones in the middle.

Someone said that if your address did not match your license, you would not be getting a check. That's not correct, my husband who is in the Navy holds a license from another state and we have gotten our notification letters, which means they have the correct address. Now hopefully we'll get the check soon!

My 18 year son claimed himself on his taxes. He should not have done this since we, the parents, claim him. He received a $300 check. He should not have received this money, we, the parents, should have. What do I do about this before he gets into trouble?

What # do you call to find out about your stimulas check

Posted by: Rosanna Location: Rochester, WA on Jun 24, 2008 at 07:41 PM
I filed my taxes in both 2006 and 2007 and I didn't receive a letter saying that I am eligable for a Stimulus Payment. We did move and I did put in an address change about a month ago.

Posted by: karen on Jun 23, 2008 at 11:56 PM
I just found out last week that the IRS is actually 1 week ahead. It said I should receive it by 06/26/2008 and already received on 06/21/2008. I heard the same thing about the address being correct on your record but if you are not at the same address you have to make sure you have a updated forwarding address set up with the post office.

Posted by: Kathy Jacobs Location: Battle Creek,MI on Jun 23, 2008 at 10:02 PM
I received mine on the exact date that I was supposed to. Guess I was one of the lucky ones. But, it was gone before I knew it (within a couple of hours). It was not enough. Single working women need more than just $300.00. So do the elderly.

JASON. ANYONE. You said if our drivers license address is not the same as our tax return we will not get the check? Then, why did I get the letter saying I would be getting it in the mail in a few days?? My addresses don't match. Help!! AM I NOT GETTING IT?????? :( :( :(

Checked on the return of my Stimlus Refund. was told I did not quilify, I'm 100% Service Connected Veteran? When Will I receive my Check?

Posted by: barb on Jun 22, 2008 at 01:29 PM
Ben I was looking at your comments about your return being mailed out on 06/06/2008 and they are stating they cant track it until 06/26/2008. The reason for that is they have a database for all returned checks and it takes about 3 weeks for it to be entered in once it has been returned. If it was mailed out on 06/06/2008 you should have had it by now so I am sure it was returned and that is why they can't track it because they don't see it in their database. The reason it will take several weeks to get another check out is because they will now have to veify your address of record from your license and postmaster before they can send out another check. I dont know if this helps but I can totally understand your frustration!

Posted by: James Location: lansing on Jun 22, 2008 at 01:17 PM
I see many people were stating they have not received their checks yet. I just wanted to let people know (and probably most do)that if your address on your drivers license is not the same address on your tax return and you have not updated your address with the post office, you will not receive it.

did any1 with ssn#98 recieve there stimulus check yet

Posted by: Andy Location: Huntsville on Jun 20, 2008 at 03:04 PM
Just spoke with the IRS and they asked me when I sent my tax return in which I did on April 15th because I had to pay, so they just processed my tax for 07. i was informed to give it 4 more weeks, so I take it that it also depends on when you sent in your taxes for 07 to when you get your check, they are behind

Posted by: Andy Location: Huntsville on Jun 20, 2008 at 01:05 PM
Mine was to be mailed june 6th also, Still no check

Posted by: CANDIDA Location: GAINESVILLE GA on Jun 19, 2008 at 01:16 PM
I thank both God and the government for the check. I dont see where anyone can complain we all have financial woes at this time. Risisng gas prices make it difficult to go anywhere and due to trucks increase on hauling everything is else is up as well. We all know this and the checks are just a way of the government trying to help a little. Take it in good faith and be grateful.

when will I receive my check

Posted by: Jenny on Jun 18, 2008 at 01:46 PM
Its great when they tell you that you are geting a check but you can not find out a darn thing, that government for you.

Posted by: Ben Location: Ohio on Jun 18, 2008 at 12:57 AM
Mine was supposed to have been mailed out on June 6th...I waited a few days...still no check. So I called the IRS, spent about an hour on the phone waiting..got someone. Found out mine was mailed on May 26th(Memorial Day??) Well its June 18th. I am behind in bills...need the money. THEy are now telling me they can't do anything until June 26th to even track it which will take sev. weeks before they can send me a new one. So...I just simply have no idea what to say or think. Has anyone else who's check was supposed to be mailed on June 6th received theirs yet?

Posted by: Mel Location: Los Angeles on Jun 17, 2008 at 01:58 AM
The check is a joke. I am a single male who can't afford a house in the Los Angeles Market making over 50,000 a year. I owe more in taxes every year then the amount of this check. If Uncle Sam thinks I'm going to spend it on him then he better bring down the price of gas. The average price of gas in Los Angeles is $4.60 a gallon. I feel like I never get ahead and the government doesn't care. It's all smoke and mirrors. What does it say about a president who bookends his "legacy" by stimulus package. See...I bet you forgot that there was the first one when he first took office. See how well that worked for us!

Posted by: Angela Location: Oregon on Jun 16, 2008 at 07:40 PM
Wow, it looks like alot of people have not recieved their check, yet. What is the hold up? I'm one of the last one to get one, so we shall see if it will get here or not in several weeks. Did any of you get a letter regarding when you would get your check? I hear some did.

Okay, about the single mother thing. Did you guys even read what she said, or are you too busy judging? She said she needs the money, but she is willing to wait and is telling people who are complaining to patient. Can you people read? Laurie, thanks for saying some nice about it.

I heard that their was a list on the local newspaper of people who were not getting their stimulus check because they didnt have an address to be sent to I have looked in the websites and nothing does anyone know if that is true?

Why are you all coming down on the single mother? Do you know her situation? Maybe she is widowed, or some other reason that you are not aware of. And get this, she isn't the one complaining about the money! What a bunch of spoiled brats! Leave her alone already, and apologize for your behavior!

Just a quick question, has anyone at all received a paper check I hear ones that received direct deposit but have not read of any that received an actual paper check. It seems this whole stimulus is out of control some received theirs and others who should have gotten it are still waiting.

K.smith, I agree about the single mother of two with a third on the way, ridiculous, I'm sure she does need money, but mabe she might want to find a way to not be single with a fourth on the way and she may not have to depend on something so much, that she is lucky to even be getting.

Posted by: k. smith Location: new jersey on Jun 9, 2008 at 05:44 PM
first of all why is that lady single with two and about to have another one(single)now that's ridiculous...anyway this is kind of crazy everything is going up and we are the ones getting hit hard...generally we all need our money that's the bottom line....

Posted by: Mary Location: Alabama on Jun 9, 2008 at 04:32 PM
I want to inform the Federal Goverment that senior citizens need money too.We will recive $300 dollars a child amount.but we pay high food bills and $4.00 a gallon for gas.We are on a tight budget.

We were supposed to get our check direct deposited on May 9th, 2008. Is that still supposed to happen, or are we to get it in the mail. If so it should be here by June 13th. This is ridiculous.

Posted by: Jessi Location: Stafford on Jun 8, 2008 at 06:37 PM
yes we are all hurting with the price of everything going soo high but this is the first year anyone has even heard of getting money from the irs.. sooo SHUT UP AND WAIT.. i need the money probally alot worse then most of you people single mother of 2 about to be single mother of 3 in 2 weeks with no job and NO i dont live on welfare.. so shut upp and wait

If you used E-filing, and had the charges for same withheld from your refund, IRS will not use direct deposit for your stimulus payment.

Which one of you took my check? I'm serious, who took my check?! If one of you removed a check from a mailbox with peeling pink (salmon-colored) paint, which was standing on the edge of a yard full of tires, dogs, children, flamingoes, and other grotesqueries, I'd like it returned please. NOW. (Actually, tomorrow will work just fine.) Thank you. PS You may keep any court notices, bills, or letters from my personal stalker (Ted) that you may have found in the mailbox as well. Thanks again.

OMG there are so many of us who never received our checks it pathetic. To me this stimulas check is a joke. There is no way this is going to bring our economy back. Bush needs to stop worrying about fixing other countries and giving them trillions of dollars and worry about his country. He disgust me on representing our country. Im sorry but no president has ever done such a terrible job on repin our country. I'd rather have no government at all. All they seem to do is care about their money. They don't care about our planet nor the people on it. I am 18 and I will be damned if I let the past generation give us no shot at a beautiful world. Growing up it was lovely but now... I wish I could of been born in the early 60s. At least people still had a voice. I have been trying to get mine out here since I was 16 but Bush was too busy sweeping things under the rug and stuffing his pockets. What ever happened to people that actually care about what life really is.

WHY IS IT SUCH A PROBLEM GETTING OUR STIMULAS CHECKS OUT TO US CITIZENS BUT THE GOV'T HAS NO PROBLEM SENDING MONEY TO OTHER COUNTRIES AROUND THE GLOBE.TO HELP THOSE PEOPLE SO WHAT IS THE BIG PROBLEM HERE IN THE US.MILLIONS OF OTHER PEOPLE OUT OF THE US SEEM TO GET THE RELIEF A LOT FASTER THEN WE DO.THAT JUST GOES TO SHOW THEY HAVE A PROBLEM GIVING US OUR FREE MONEY.BUT IF YOU OWED THEY BE RIGHT AT YOUR DOOR SERVING PAPERS.

if you used turbo tax and had your filing fees deducted from your return, you will be getting a check in the mail, and not direct deposit. Of course I didn't find this out till the day I thought the money was supposed to be deposited. Turbo tax sent me an email, on that day, and told me that.

my husband and i filled direct deposit at the end of January and his last two are 95. its disappointing that we are promised one thing and not receiving. I dont know much about how the government works but this does not make them look good.

To many people are blaming Jennifer Grandholm for the problems in Michigan. Maybe they should go back and blame the right people. Grandholm did not bring on the trouble that Michigan is going through!!! She inherited all the problems. Also everything that she has tryed is voted down by our congressmem and senators. Thank them for the mess in Michigan. Also Grandholm has nothing to do with the stimulas checks. That is a federal thing. Support our govenor for a change, get mad at those's deserve it.

Posted by: Denny Location: Lansing on May 27, 2008 at 01:37 PM
Um, Jennifer Granholm has nothing to do with these checks, they are from the federal government. And if you didn't do direct deposit you are not getting it until next month. It isn't a joke, you'll get yours just be patient.

Posted by: Robert Location: Middleville Mi on May 27, 2008 at 12:58 PM
Real nice to see all the commercials telling us about the Stimulas Check, yet i know no one who recieved theirs as of yet. my #s are 07 filed on time and no direct deposit and still no $$$$$s yet . Jennifer Grandholm is Michigans biggest jokes, good people are leaving Michigan because of her.

Perri, I love how you say people complaining are illiterate, but then you use "there" instead of "their" and "they're". When you make fun of people, at least make yourself seem smart.

Posted by: Joe Location: Kali-fornia Norte Republica de Mexico on May 26, 2008 at 01:20 AM
To Matt and others who do not want Their tax money back, send it to me, it will help me out. This is a RETURN OF YOUR OWN MONEY, The Government has no money of it's own. They have your money. I believe Americans should be much more ProActive in controlling how our money is spent (wasted) by politicians who pretend to represent us. PUT THEM ON A STRICT BUDGET ! Force them to give account for their every vote. The money wasted by our Gov. is the main reason we are being extorted at the gas pumps. Our Dollar has lost 1/2 to 2/3 it's value since 2005, based upon the price of gold, oil etc . . . Wake up politicians, we are not fools, only a bit Lazy.

If you got a rapid refund that was direct deposired into your bank account, then you will not get a stimulous check through direct deposit. you will get a paper check in the mail, the rapid refund messed you up because that comes from a third party(a loan) not from the federal govt.Your paper check will arrive according to you last 2 digits of your ss#

funny how everone finds these websited and cant make it the the irs.gov. it answers almost all these questions. If your tax liability (figured on your adjusted gross income) is less than the max amount you get that amount. Noone is guaranted 600 per individual and 300 per child go to irs.gov with your 2007 tax return and use the stimulus calculator and it should be accurate as to what you are getting. However if you have a tax dept or past due child support they are going to keep to pay the debt.

I did my taxes with Turbo Tax with the fees deducted from my refund. I got a paper check mailed out on May 16 and I recieved it in the mail on May 19. I agree with some. The IRS should have been a little more informative about when and how people will get their checks.

Tina, I'm pretty sure it doesn't take pushing a button to direct deposit millions of dollars to everyone in the US. They are not doing this for "fun" or because they "hate" you, they have legitimate problems, so give them time.

what I don't get about the irs is why they can't process direct deposit and paper checks with ss # at the same time. Makes no sense to me just do the entire group of ss # at one time some go direct others drop to checks. I mean isn't the goal to get the money in people hands NOW!!! I guess they aren't that smart

Troy, Have you gone on the irs website and used the tracker, you enter your social, filing status and exemptions and it will tell you when your payment is going, it will only work if your payment is due to go out with the next 2 weeks. I am assuming you may not be getting a direct deposit as you thought, you may be getting a check for some reason.

I am writing about the stimulus check that I haven't got yet, and how hard the IRS is making it to find information about my stimulus check. If you go by their schedule I was suppose to get my check on May 2. It is now May 19 and I still have not got my check into my direct deposit yet. I tried calling the number on the letter that the IRS sent me, but I am only getting a machine telling me to go on line to look up the expected time for my check to arrive. How do I find out were my check is if the IRS is not taking phone calls, and their web site is no help at all? Thank you for listing to me complaint. Sincerely Troy Miller

Stimulus? Is this what they call it. if you are going to give money away, then please do it when you say, if I was late on tax's they would be charging me late fees every day???? hhhmmmmm thought for the day...

I am glad that I checked out the comments on this story. I did my taxes via Turbo Tax and was "supposed" to receive my check direct deposit the very first day, still don't have it and apparently they are just mailing it out today...I think that the IRS should have been a little more clear on things.

this scheadule for the stimulus check is not right. we did not get ours when it said we would

Posted by: Ben on May 16, 2008 at 10:30 AM
It wouldn't be a big deal about the money if the Government would have been realistic about what to expect. They tell us it will be deposited by May 9th (for my SS#) and here it is a week later and I don't have it. I'm one of the people that filed in early Feb electronically! People are throwing a fit because its not here when they tell them it will be, and some of us budget around things like that.

Posted by: Kim Location: Jackson, Mi on May 16, 2008 at 08:23 AM
I think what is bothering most people, is that the government issued this statement with the schedule and the $ amounts and most of that is erroneous. Yes people have counted their chickens before they've hatched ~ that's because of the economy! Somebody tells you they're giving you "FREE" money ~ you look forward to it! They just didn't give ALL the details up front. Also, you can check the IRS website and find out exactly how much you are getting. Which I did, and I found out I'm not getting the additional $300 for my teenage son because he turned 17 before January 31, 2008! So it just makes it frustrating ~ How can it 'stimulate the economy' when they are giving them out over a 2 1/2 month time period and they're not going out when originally stated?

From what I hear out there, most people have counted their chickens before they have hatched. Thinking about how they are going to spend money that you haven't even received yet. Makes no sense to me. I work two jobs, in order to make ends meet and still am short on money for gas, bills, and everyday living. But I am not counting on this money to get me by. If it shows up great, if not at least I won't be disappointed.

You will get a letter in the mail after you should have gotten your stimulus payment. If you didn't get your direct deposit, there is a number to call in the letter. If not go to the IRS.gov website and look for some of the information on the complications. This is A LOT more complicated than you guys think, of course there are going to be mistakes, but this isn't for "the rich" if anything, most people over a certain income will NOT receive any money. Educate yourself on the situation before getting upset with whats going on

Posted by: david Location: Colorado Springs on May 12, 2008 at 06:03 PM
So you will get a paper check if you filied with Turbo Tax AND had your filing fees taken out of your refund. The IRS said the money you get is called an RAC ( Refund Anticipated Check) and that an RAC is an agreement between you and a bank. The bank gives you money before the IRS give the bank money (like a loan) now when i read the fine print it said that the Bank recieves the money from the IRS first then it give it to you so I don't understand why this would be called an RAC. It is a bunch of bull if you ask me The IRS still has my tax info on line WITH my account info for Direct Deposit and they should have send my money out on the 9th with the rest of them.

I heard that if you had direct deposit, but paid to file taking money out of your refund to pay for the filing then you will get a paper check instead of direct deposit. Has anyone else heard this?

If you filed through Turbo Tax, you'll be getting a check. They set up an account with a private bank and the IRS never sees your account information.

Responding to posting by "Business Owner" on May 11, 2008. I would be very interested in submitting my resume to you.

I was just checking out this site because it was the only one I found so far that still had the dates of the checks posted on it. In reading these comments I find it amusing that there are sooooooooo many that are complaining about our government in this country. I recently graduated nursing school, have become pregnant, my husband is self employed and we also have two other children. Because of the fact my husband is self employed we have to pay in sooooooooooo much tax to the IRS (of course we do not have a multi-million dollar corp.) As a small business owner, brick mason/concrete, we cannot even afford to hire employees. The only reason we are looking forward to a stimulus package is to help offset the already high tax we have to pay in. If you are getting an actual check in your hand - congrats and be thankful. We are just looking forward to not having to pay in as much as we usually do!

I dont know if the check will really help out that much abd if they do it wont last long. The price of gas and food keep goin up and before we know it were right back where we started.

I was reading everones complaints about these checks.Yes, we all neeed them, but I'd trade it if in aweek my hsband would still be alive. You see April 23 he was told he was going to die in abot 30 days and we have lost almost everthing already because we dont have insurance.I'd trade all your checks and mine just to keep him alive. Please count our blessings, Maybe if I had a dollar from everyone I wouldn't lose our home and car and maybe my family could feel like there is a tomarrow thats worth seeing.God bless you all but have alittle patients. We need the money to have my husband creamated since we cant afford a funeral and we still dont have enough.

Ok it is Sunday the 11th and still no check. I was supposed to recieve my check on the 9th is anyone else having this same issue?

Posted by: Business Owner on May 11, 2008 at 10:42 AM
You people are just plain old STUPID! Recording the time of day and checking your bank account? Why don't you spend that energy trying to improve your situation instead of sitting on your *** and waiting to be taken care of like an infant? There are jobs out there, I've been trying to hire a QUALIFIED individual for over 2 years. Applicants are either so poorly educated that I don't want them representing my company or they think they're worth more than they are so they just sit at home and complain about no jobs and when they are going to get free money. Those of you who don't want it, donate it to a literacy program. God knows many people in this state need it.

I would just wondering where our check from the government was? I heard that to had to pay in so much taxes or you did not qualify. That is stupid, I thought it was supposed to help us all out not just the RICH!!!!!!!!!! But thats our government for ya.

Hey mike, way to repeat an email that is actually incorrect when blaming the democratic congress. Unemployment is actually down, home are in foreclosure for A LOT of reason OTHER than who is in congress. And maybe you should use your own ideas and look up the facts before you INCORRECTLY state things that are obviously false.

Posted by: Mike Location: Georgia on May 9, 2008 at 02:03 PM
It apears to me that many of you blame George Bush for all of our problems. What You do'nt understand or choose to ignore is that congress makes law and the president must work with whats handed to him. Before voting in a democratic congress, consumer confidence was at a 2 1/2 year high.Gas sold for 2.15 a gallon.Since then consumer confidence has plummeted,Gas has risen to 3.52 a gallon, unemployment is up,and very many American homes are in forclosure. If the democratic nominee secures the presidency we may see a change but, only because a democratic congress will be willing to work with a democratic president. If you are looking for a place to lay blame, then lay the blame where it belongs,on congress. Bush wants to inrease oil exploration and drilling in the U.S. and congress wont allow it,if they would we could have cheaper fuel, lower food prices and a stronger economy. As long as our oil comes from countrys who hate us it will remain high. You voted for change in 2006 and You got it!

Hey overdrawn acnt.. you should never count your chickens before they hatch! If you have not recieved your check then look at this website. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080503043830AAvNtfi It explains why some people have not recieved them yet. I thought i would have gotten mine already too but this explains why i havent :( They forgot to mention this above but it makes sense... still sucks though

Posted by: Laurie Location: New York on May 9, 2008 at 10:11 AM
My husband and I were expecting $600 a piece plus $300 each child. We only recieved $1200. What happened to it being $1,800 as it was first explained? I suppose we should be thankful anyway. Just when you are expecting one amount and you get less, it's kind of a bummer.

Posted by: Donny Location: Lansing on May 9, 2008 at 10:06 AM
Overdrawn, maybe you should have managed your money better. I know gas is a lot and a lot of families are glad this money is coming, but if you didn't have it what would you do? Second, it's May 9th the start of the deposits will take place, so it could roll over until tomorrow. People need to relax, you are getting free money...if you are mad because it's late, thend on't take it.

Posted by: Danny Location: Lansing on May 9, 2008 at 09:57 AM
Bridget, do you think they are lying or something? It's coming..

Well it's 9:18 here in Michigan, the Banks are open and still no check. Maybe they are using the excuse that they have until the end of the business day. I wonder what time zone they will be using. Maybe they are on Pacific Standard which means we still have 3 hours to wait here in Michigan. LOL the irony of it all.

I wish those of you saying,"I wish they would keep my check." drop dead, or give me the money. I am sick of hearing that you "dont need it"!! Well I do, I need it bad. I need shampoo and laundry soap.....etc. I need it so bad. I have been waiting for a week for it washing my hair with waterd down shampoo and wearing my clothes twice to make do. Please stop acting snooty I cant afford gas in my car or an alternator to get it started. Im sick of hearing about all these selfish snooty people. God, we need another flood. And also Im not educated because I didnt have that option in life, I went to 18 different schools. How can you get an education with no way of helping your situation? Im lucky though, I have the tools to make it off nothing. I hope you all can understand or realize your privalage. People do need this bad.

Stimulus checks were said to be 600.00 for single and 1200.00 for married. Now we find out that you may only get 600.00 if married and it depends on your tax return. This is not a stimulus it,s a rip-off.

Too bad we can't all donate our bribe checks ( Bush's bribes for votes to the rpublican party) Donate them to the democratic party to help the country not need checks like these in the future
