Owners of a Mid-Michigan company are sorting through the ashes following a fire tuesday night that leveled a poultry facility.

The cause is still under investigation.

The Herbruck Poultry Ranch in Ionia County suffered the loss of about 250,000 chickens Tuesday night.

It is one of michigan's largest egg producers.

It's unclear what the price impact on eggs will be.

Nonetheless, there are some concerns that the sudden loss of production will eventually hit business and perhaps you the consumer.

A customer of the poultry ranch doubts the supply loss will cost consumers in the short term, adding large food distributors who supply restaurants have alternative ways to deliver to customers.
But The Michigan Restaurant Association says it's not that cut and dry.
