A Pause for City Pay-Outs

By  |

Lansing's mayor is putting a hold on pay-outs for the city's top workers.
The payoffs include more than a reported $600,000 worth of left over vacation, sick days and compensation time.

It's money the dozen city department heads were promised as pay-outs if they leave their current jobs.

One of the problems is the city doesn't yet know where the money will come from if there's a change in the mayor's office come november.

A new mayor would likely choose new department heads.

City of Lansing Director of Finance, Glen Kirk isn't sure either. He argues the money is owed to the workers especially those with a loyal history.
