NASCAR, campers and cash are flowing into the tiny village of Brooklyn this weekend. It's the first race weekend of the year at Michigan International Speedway.
Fans flooded the gates Friday and packed the stands to watch their favorite drivers practice. Grand Ledge resident Patty Huber can't make it to the race Sunday so she grabbed a good spot near the garages and snapped shots of Jeff Gordon.
About a quarter of a mile away Hank Kuilema and his crew set up shop at Juniper Hills Campground. They're laying low until Saturday when they'll make the trek to the track.
The big race, the Batman Begins 400, starts at 2:10 p.m. Sunday and tickets are still available.
