In a Lawsuit filed by the Capital City United Way, they accuse a former employee of embezzling over $900,000 in a scheme of fraud and forgery.

The lawsuit alleges former Vice President of Finance, Jacquelyn Allen-MacGregor of embezzling nearly one million dollars from charitable donations.

The suit claims she stole blank checks from a safe, forged the names of Capital City United Way Officers, manipulated accounting software and destroyed official records.

United Way officials say the money was taken during the period of 2002 and 2003. During that time approximately $13 million was collected by the charitable organization.

The missing $900,000 accounts for approximately seven percent of total collections during 2002 and 2003.
