The announcement comes after the MSP's old supplier, 'Second Chance Body Armor,' said it's products containing the fabric zylon were no longer safe. The MSP used more than 900 of those vests, forcing them to find replacements.
The new vests cost 360 dollars a piece... with 963 troopers in need of a new vest, it will cost the MSP around 350-thousand dollars for the new supplies.
Inspector Gary Nix with the MSP says they hope to have every trooper wearing a new vest in two months.
