E.R. doctors say one of the most common causes of scooter-related accidents is kids riding too close to traffic and colliding with cars.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reports one in five accidents is actually caused by a faulty scooter. In fact, thousands of Razor Electric scooters have been recalled this week due to safety problems.
And while ER doctors won't comment if scooters themselves are inherently dangerous, they say parents need to enforce proper safety precautions.
